The NASCAR Nationwide Series visited Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon, and the race ended in excitement for one rookie, who got his first career win in the series. The race stayed green for much of the first half of the race, with Kevin Harvick leading much of the early stages of the race. Then, bad luck hit for Jeffrey Earnhardt on lap 55 when his engine blew. He was able to make it back to pit lane, but the caution flew due to oil coming from his engine on the track and down pit lane.

The final caution of the day came on lap 71 for debris, and Ty Dillon took the lead on the restart. He was able to hold off second place finisher Kyle Busch for the last 25 laps, despite being nearly empty on fuel. This was Ty Dillon’s first win in the Nationwide Series and as he was the highest finishing Dash 4 Cash driver – the other three are Brian Scott, Chase Elliott and Trevor Bayne – he received a $100,000 bonus. He is now eligible to receive a similar bonus at Iowa Speedway in the final Dash 4 Cash race.

Matt Kenseth, Kevin Harvick, and Joey Logano rounded out the top five.
